What is a youth council?
A youth council is a group of young people keen to change things in their local area, whether it is looking for somewhere for young people to meet, improving facilities in your local area, or raising awareness of wider issues such as transport, sexual health and personal safety.

They are groups of young people coming together and sharing ideas, discussing current issues and thinking of ways in which they can help improve things in their area.

Who is the St Albans Youth Council for?
The St Albans Youth Council is open to all young people aged 11–17 from the local area. If you are living, working or attending school in the St Albans area and want to make a difference and can rise to the challenge of representing the views of other young people then this is for you. The St Albans Youth Council is your space to make the views of young people known and tell decision makers what the key issues and needs of young people are.

The youth council always welcomes new members so please get in touch if you'd like to join.

What's in it for you?
Youth councillors learn many new skills, make a difference and are valued members of the community.
