The Services for Young People Bishop's Stortford Access Point Project at Bishop's Stortford Young People's Centre offers young people access to wide range of services. We help young people progress into education, training or to find a job or apprenticeship. We also offer confidential one-to-one support with issues such as mental health, relationships, personal safety, benefits and finances, housing and homelessness, drug and alcohol use. Young people can also access sexual health services, including free condoms, free pregnancy testing and free chlamydia and gonorrhoea testing.
Opening times
Every Tuesday and Thursday, 1-5pm
At Services for Young People Access Point Projects, you can discuss a wide range of topics with trained staff confidentially and in private.
Please call, text or email to make an appointment or just drop in during the opening times. Making an appointment in advance will ensure you don't have to wait to be seen. As well as face-to-face appointments, phone and video-call appointments are also available.
Our Access Point Projects remain open during school holidays, but are closed on bank holidays.
The service is free and confidential.
At the Bishop's Stortford Access Point Project you can access information, advice and support – including on the following:
- Jobs and careers
- Training and apprenticeships
- Education and exams, including exam pressure
- Youth work projects in your area
- Advice on general health and relationships
- Sexual health including:
- free condoms through the Condom Wallet Scheme
- free chlamydia and gonorrhoea testing
- free pregnancy testing
- Drugs, substance misuse and alcohol
- Benefits and finance
- Housing and homelessness
- Improving resilience, self-esteem and confidence
- Independent living skills
We also have PCs that you can use for research, developing CV's, searching for jobs and training and accessing other information.
If you are a care experienced young person, you can also get support to help you become more independent and confident in all areas of your life. We will help you identify you goals in life and focus on how you can achieve them.
Young people who are in school or college can get impartial careers guidance from Services for Young People at their school or college. We work with the majority of education providers in Hertfordshire. Please ask your Careers Leader for a guidance appointment.
